Prof.David Yau

David Yau obtained his PhD (Computer Science) from the University of Texas at Austin. Since 2013, he has been a Professor in the ISTD Pillar of the Singapore University of Technology and Design. He was a Distinguished Scientist at the Advanced Digital Sciences Centre (now the Illinois Advanced Research Centre at Singapore), where he also served as Director of the Smart Grid and Cybersecurity research programmes. Prior to Singapore, he was an Assistant Professor and then an Associate Professor (Computer Science) at Purdue University (West Lafayette). David's research interest is in computer networks, cyber-physical systems, and cybersecurity and privacy. He received an IBM Fellowship and a CAREER award from the U.S. National Science Foundation. He won Best Paper awards in 2017 IEEE/ACM Int’l Conf. Information Processing in Sensor Networks (IPSN) and 2010 IEEE Int’l Conf. Multi-sensor Fusion and Integration (MFI). Several of his other papers have been selected as Best Paper finalists in major international conferences such as IEEE PerCom. David is an Associate Editor of ACM Trans. Sensor Networks. He has served on the editorial boards of several other international journals in computer networks, such as IEEE Trans. Network Science and Engineering (awarded Excellent Editor in 2021), IEEE/ACM Trans. Networking, IEEE Trans. Smart Grid (Special Section on Smart Grid Cyber-Physical Security), and Elsevier Computer Networks (Special Issue on Selected Papers from IFIP/IEEE Networking). He was a TPC/track co-chair, keynote speaker, or organizing committee member of several major international conferences, such as IFIP/IEEE Networking, IEEE ICNP, IEEE ICDCS, and IEEE LCN. He also served in the Management Committee of the Singapore Cybersecurity Consortium (SCC) and chaired its SIG in IoT and CPS security.

Prof. Beixiong Zheng

Dr. Beixiong Zheng is a Professor and Ph.D./M.Sc. supervisor at South China University of Technology. He has been selected as an IEEE ComSoc Asia-Pacific Outstanding Young Researcher (2025), a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher (2025), a Humboldt Research Fellow for Experienced Researchers (2024), a recipient of the National Overseas Talent Program by the Ministry of Education of China (2024), a Young Top Talent of the Guangdong “Pearl River Talent Plan” (2024), a recipient of the Young Scientific and Technological Innovation Award of the Guangdong Institute of Electronics (2025), an Elsevier Highly Cited Chinese Researcher (2024–2025), and one of the World’s Top 2% Scientists by Stanford University and Mendeley Data (2021–2025). He received the IEEE Heinrich Hertz Award for Best Communications Letter in 2022 (ranked first, 1–2 awards worldwide per year), the IEEE Communications Society Best Tutorial Paper Award in 2023 (ranked third, one award worldwide per year), the First Prize of the Natural Science Award of the Guangdong Institute of Communications in 2024 (ranked first), the First Prize of the Guangdong Electronic Information Natural Science Award in 2022 (ranked second), the Second Prize of the Guangdong Electronic Information Natural Science Award in 2022 (ranked first), the Best Demo Award at IEEE/CIC ICCC (ranked second, only two awards in the conference), three Best Paper Awards from IEEE ICNC/WCSP/Ucom, and the Best Ph.D. Thesis Award from the China Education Society of Electronics in 2018. As the first/corresponding author, he has published 45 papers in top IEEE journals, including IEEE JSAC, TWC, TCOM, TSP, COMST, and WCM, among which 24 are first-author papers, with the highest impact factor of a single paper being 46.7. His publications have received more than 13,000 Google Scholar citations, with the most cited paper receiving over 3,500 citations, and more than 9,000 Web of Science citations excluding self-citations. Among these publications, 6 papers have been selected as ESI Hot Papers (top 0.1% in their academic field), 13 papers as ESI Highly Cited Papers (top 1%), and 3 papers as IEEE Communications Society Best Readings. He has been granted 10 Chinese invention patents and 1 U.S. invention patent, among which two authorized invention patents have been transferred for CNY 300,000 and CNY 250,000, respectively. A number of his research results have been included in 6G white papers and research reports, such as the “2030+ Technology Trend White Paper,” “Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Technology White Paper,” and “Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface Technology Research Report.” He is currently serving as an Editor for the leading SCI journals IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications and IEEE Communications Letters, and as the Lead Guest Editor for IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications. He has been invited many times to serve as a Technical Program Committee member, workshop chair, and session chair for top conferences in the field of communications. He has also served as a regular reviewer for more than ten major journals in communications and information sciences, and has been recognized several times as an Outstanding/Exemplary Reviewer by IEEE journals. He is currently an IEEE Senior Member and a Senior Member of the China Institute of Communications, and serves as the Deputy Director of the China Southern Power Grid–South China University of Technology Joint Laboratory on “Green New Industrialization Power Communications.”
